Greenville Federal Credit Union announced today it will sponsor a third “Dinner on Us” giveaway which will take place for two weeks in October. Four random winners will be drawn to each receive five $100 gift cards to five local restaurants of their choosing ($500 total value per winner) during the giveaway.

The credit union is sponsoring “Dinner on Us” for a third time due to the popularity and success of the first two giveaways in 2019 and 2020. The giveaway offers a much-needed spotlight for local restaurants across Greenville County who continue to rebound from the pandemic slowdown.  

During the pandemic, local restaurants were hit especially hard by social distancing and lockdown limitations. The credit union sought to offer financial and promotional support to restaurants in a way that remained safe for patrons at that time. The “Dinner on Us” concept helped the credit union provide immediate funding support to the businesses, while giving winners the option to use their gift cards whenever they felt comfortable.

“Our community is always eager to share its resources and support for those who are struggling – including local retailers and restaurants. It is amazing to watch the enthusiastic response when people see that their participation in a contest can actually make a positive impact for a local business,” said Paul Hughes, CEO of Greenville Federal Credit Union.  

By engaging the public to boost and support their favorite local restaurants, these campaigns allow Greenville Federal Credit Union to help local small businesses in a positive and impactful way.

The giveaway, administered by GVLToday, will be hosted on Instagram for two weeks starting October 11.  Anyone can enter by tagging their five favorite local restaurants and a friend in the weekly post and following the credit union.  The winners will be announced the following week and will receive $500 in gift cards. 20 restaurants will receive support through gift card sales, and multiple restaurants will be promoted over the course of the contest.

Dinner on Us winners can use those gift cards to order take-out, delivery – or even donate them to essential workers or a family in need.
