Greenville Federal Credit Union and The Greenville News announced Lindsey Metz and Jeff Townsend as the February 2023 "Community Hero" honorees. Metz and Townsend are recognized for their dedication and support of the Roger C. Peace Rollin' Tigers youth wheelchair basketball team players and adaptive sports in general.

Each month nominations will be collected for candidates that work in health care, public safety, education, the military, nonprofit agencies and the business world, the religious sector, entertainment or athletics. They can be a student or a young child or a retiree, etc. The selected "Hero" will be profiled in the Greenville News and receive a certificate and award from the credit union.
