Pay at the register without touching your cards.

Contactless Payment options let you pay at the register without touching your cards or the payment terminal.

In these days of safe distancing, it makes sense to have a no-contact payment option when shopping for essentials.

You can make no-touch, contactless payments using your mobile device and Apply Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, Fitbit Pay, or other mobile wallet applications.  These payment apps allow you to carry your credit or debit card information in a digital form on your mobile device. Instead of using your physical plastic card to make purchases, you can pay with your smartphone, tablet, or smartwatch simply by holding your device near the payment terminal.

Once the appropriate app is installed to your mobile device* you can add your Greenville Federal Credit Union credit and debit card accounts by following the setup instructions within the app.

How and where can you use your payment app?

Look for the Contactless Payment symbol on the payment terminal at checkout.

The vast majority of credit and debit card transactions are processed on payment terminals that are NFC (near-field communication) enabled. Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay are accepted virtually anywhere EMV chipped cards can be used. More than three-quarters of the top 100 US merchants by transactions currently offer contactless as an option at checkout.

Are these payment apps safe?

Transactions using these apps are safe because they utilize industry-standard tokenization to help keep each transaction private and secure. Your payment information is neither stored nor shared so you can pay without worry. Plus, your credit union card accounts continue to reap the full benefits, reward options and security the credit union has always provided.
